Business Affairs Assistant sought for one-year maternity leave coverage in Toronto, Ontario. Assist with production-related business affairs activities for TV movie productions.

Champlain Media is a dynamic international television production and distribution company with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

Reporting to the Business Affairs Manager, the Business Affairs Assistant will oversee and administer various production-related business affairs activities for a dedicated slate of television movie productions.

  • Support the Business Affairs team with a robust slate of television movie productions.
  • Prepare Business Affairs deliverables (start packs, open bank accounts, credits, collect wrap documents, update spreadsheets).
  • Register all projects for copyright.
  • Track and communicate regarding delivery milestones and schedules.
  • Follow and contribute toward improving "best practices", as well as creative problem solving and troubleshooting on day-to-day business affairs-production matters.
  • Liaise with and maintain proactive communication with all other departments (production, finance, distribution, post-production) on various business affairs issues and provide general business affairs support.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Highly reliable, with the ability to self-manage, problem solve and exercise excellent judgement.
  • Ability to excel in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive contributor and collaborative team member, with a strong commitment to learning and excellence.
  • College or university degree in film or business administration an asset.
