Job Title: Director, Business Affairs

Gusto TV is a leading food channel with a global presence, broadcasting on over 40 platforms in 160 countries. As a key member of the Cartt team, the Director of Business Affairs will play a crucial role in driving the company's strategic planning, commercial relationships, and contractual negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  2. Commercial Relations: Foster and maintain key commercial relationships with platforms, ad-serving, and ad demand partners, driving revenue growth and optimization.
  3. Contract Negotiation: Provide expert counsel and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions for Gusto TV.
  4. Channel Operations: Oversee channel operations, scheduling, and marketing departments to ensure timely platform launches, troubleshoot technical issues, and create engaging marketing content.
  5. Financial Management: Collaborate with Finance and Production to implement and administer tax credit applications, insurance, and banking requirements for production.
  6. HR Management: Manage HR functions, including staffing, contracts, budgeting, training, and development.
  7. Corporate Communications: Oversee corporate communications and B2B activity, ensuring a strong brand presence and reputation.
  8. Event Management: Negotiate and oversee Gusto TV's presence at events and trade shows, seeking and evaluating sponsorship opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5-7 years of business affairs/operations experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to exercise influence, legal, and business judgment in challenging situations.
  3. Experience engaging with legal counsel on multiple issues.
  4. Media experience is an asset, leadership experience is a must.
  5. A working knowledge of the Canadian tax credit system.
  6. Independent and proactive.
  7. Natural communication skills and ability to adapt quickly.
  8. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  9. Must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident.
  10. A passionate advocate with a love for food.
