Some of the responsibilities of the Social Media Specialist job opening in Canada may include, but are not limited to:
  • Craft, create and manage our social media content and strategy, elevating our storytelling across products and solutions.
  • Lead strategic planning, development, and distribution of monthly newsletters and email campaigns.
  • Provide ad hoc copywriting for digital advertising.
  • Advocate for content and social media excellence, establish guidelines, curate a content repository, and collaborate with advisors to amplify their stories and business growth.
  • Liaise with our U.S. colleagues to tailor content for the Canadian market.
  • Work alongside the marketing team to develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies.
  • Engage with sales and corporate stakeholders to promote thought leadership and a cohesive brand narrative.
  • Present strategies, recommendations, and insights to leadership for alignment and advancement of our content and social initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our creative teams to produce social and mobile-first video content, steering the narrative through all project phases.
  • Maintain a detailed cross-channel content calendar that aligns with corporate goals and supports advisor engagement.
  • Develop and oversee a content marketing dashboard to track KPIs and uncover new strategic opportunities.
  • Stay informed about competitor activities, social and content trends, and share insights to continually refine our tactics.
  • Contribute to the establishment and optimization of departmental processes.
  • Note that this role includes all forms of content marketing and digital ads and video so it is best suited for someone with these various channels of expertise.
Some of the requirements for consideration of the Social Media Specialist job opening in Canada may include but are not limited to:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a social media specialist or a directly related role (not stuck on title but will look at the experience – be sure to detail this on your application)
  • Strengths in various tools including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro X, Hootsuite, Canva and others.
  • Exceptional written and spoken communication skills; this includes strong copywriting skills.
  • Strengths in creativity from concept through to execution.
  • Expertise in creating and optimizing social media content on a variety of channels; You Tube, Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.
  • Experience in building strategy against marketing campaigns.
  • An analytical mindset to research market trends, social listen, target audience etc.
  • Ability to work on an EST time zone schedule if outside the GTA – if you are in the GTA, there is opportunity for in person meetings/collaboration at times and will take preference to talent in this area.
  • The ideal candidate will bring experience from manufacturing, construction, architecture, interior/exterior design or even the retail arena; not required but preference given.
