Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Team Lead to join our team at Farm Boy Inc. As a Service Team Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide superior customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of delivering the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Department Supervision: Supervise department and responsible for providing floor support (e.g. delegating tasks, breaks, readiness for business and operations).
  • Daily Tasks: Completion of daily 2x2's for the department.
  • Training and Development: Assist with the training of new team members as required.
  • Coaching and Feedback: Provide coaching while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and trust.
  • Department Assessments: Assist with the completion of department service assessments.
  • Inventory Management: Receive and accurately store department orders.
  • Financial Management: Review and verify department invoices for accuracy.
  • Store Operations: Responsible for reset of department for the closing team and ensuring department is ready for business.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate corporate and department information, changes and updates.
  • Product Knowledge: Have a passion for food and knowledgeably handle all customer questions or comments confidently.
  • Service Standards: Utilizing Farm Boy Service Standards, welcome, greet and offer customer assistance as required.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Requirements:

  • Education: Typically requires partial completion of a post-secondary program, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Superior customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work with little supervision with a high standard for quality, attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making: Good judgement and decision-making abilities
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Language: Fluency in English and French shall be considered an asset.

Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Required to stand for long periods of time during shift.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Required to lift, carry or handle heavy objects.
  • Repetitive Movements: May be required to perform repetitive and/or precise hand/finger movements.
  • Temperature Changes: Required to adapt to temperature changes on occasion (working on the retail floor as well as in coolers, freezers, and outside).
