Client Support Specialist: Provide technical support for audiovisual equipment and systems in classrooms and special events, working collaboratively with Network Operations staff to research, plan, design, purchase, secure, deploy, maintain and support end-user equipment and networking infrastructure.

Western University is seeking a Client Support Specialist to join the Housing and Ancillary Services Information Technology (HAS IT) team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality technical support services, including telephone, email, remote desktop, and in-person support, to clients across the division.

About the Role: The Client Support Specialist will work collaboratively with the HAS IT team to implement secure, innovative, cost-effective, and client-centric technology solutions that strengthen operational efficiencies, communication, and business continuity for the division and external partners.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical support for audiovisual equipment and systems in classrooms and special events
    • Work collaboratively with Network Operations staff to research, plan, design, purchase, secure, deploy, maintain and support end-user equipment and networking infrastructure
    • Deliver high-quality technical support services, including telephone, email, remote desktop, and in-person support, to clients across the division
  • Qualifications:
    • Undergraduate University Degree or College Diploma
    • 1 year experience providing phone, email, and face-to-face technical and computing support to administrative staff in a business environment
    • Preferred: 3 years of experience providing phone, email, remote control, and face-to-face technical support to administrative staff in an educational environment
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Knowledge of hardware, software, and network connectivity troubleshooting
    • Proficient in MS office suite, spyware removal tools, antivirus, firewall, email, and imaging applications
    • Current knowledge of operating systems: Windows and Mac OS
    • Understanding of the concepts and application of workstation security
