About the Opportunity

Reporting Executive Directors this role will co-lead five scheduling operational centres in collaboration with leaders across the NSH to provide scheduling and time services, planning and strategy to support both day to day operations and longer term scheduling needs. The Directors will work closely with the Provincial Scheduling Director and is accountable for providing strategic and operational leadership for scheduling operations that aligns with Nova Scotia Health's priorities and policies.

The Directors are positioned to have an integral role and a close relationship to the operational leadership of 140+ facilities and programs across Nova Scotia Health to ensure oversight and effective coordination and integration of scheduling operation services and workflow.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Baccalaureate degree in related field such as Business/Public Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's degree in Business/Public Administration is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a formal leadership position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care services, structures, and environments, including job classifications and related scopes of practice and employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health care services staff scheduling processes, timekeeping practices, and related information systems. Preferably UKG/KRONOS
  • Demonstrated experience building and optimizing schedules, master rotations, and relief/replacement staffing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment
  • Demonstrated experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits

$ $67.29 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
