About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to Executive Directors, this role will co-lead five scheduling operational centers in partnership with leaders across Nova Scotia Health. The Director will play a crucial role in providing scheduling and time services, planning, and strategy to support both daily operations and long-term scheduling needs.

The Directors will work closely with the Provincial Scheduling Director and are accountable for delivering strategic and operational leadership for scheduling operations that align with Nova Scotia Health's priorities and policies.

This position offers a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery across Nova Scotia.

About You

We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a proven track record in leadership and scheduling operations within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business/Public Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Master's degree in Business/Public Administration is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience in a formal leadership position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource management, and financial management within a unionized environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare services, structures, and environments, including job classifications, scopes of practice, and employment-related regulations.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare staff scheduling processes, timekeeping practices, and related information systems. Experience with UKG/KRONOS is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing schedules, master rotations, and relief/replacement staffing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse staff and stakeholders, demonstrating cultural competence, diversity, and social inclusion principles.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset; French proficiency is preferred.
