About the Role
As a Scheduling Operations Specialist, you will report to the Scheduling Operations Manager and collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager or delegate. Your primary responsibility will be to support the scheduling team in ensuring comprehensive coverage of duties. You will develop and maintain a strategic and integrated approach to troubleshooting and escalation of scheduling and system-related activities. This role requires a strong understanding of scheduling and time management software, providing direction, instruction, and training for scheduling activities and contingency procedures.
Your Responsibilities
The Scheduling Operations Specialist will serve as the first point of contact and resource for managers, employees, and the scheduling operations team. You will ensure compliance and alignment with the scheduling and time system, relevant legislation, regulations, collective agreements, policies, and operational and strategic objectives. Your role will also involve maintaining a high degree of data and business process quality and integrity while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Relevant certification in scheduling or business enterprise information systems is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in scheduling operations related to the employee life cycle, preferably in a business enterprise software system and in a unionized health care environment.
- Strong planning, organizing, prioritizing, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and recognizing sensitive issues.
- A dedication to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Some travel may be required.
- Competencies in additional languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
Work Hours
This is a permanent full-time position requiring 75 hours biweekly.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position is $37.38. Successful candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
