As an HR Technology Business Analyst at the Royal Bank of Canada, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering key outcomes for various HR technology initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to assess business requirements for assigned projects, ensuring that system needs are effectively identified, configured, and aligned with the overarching strategic objectives.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Grasping the intricacies of HR operations and incorporating potential opportunities and risks into project requirements through comprehensive information-gathering sessions.
- Preparing detailed business system specifications, tracking and resolving issues, and configuring the SAP on-premise system across various modules including payroll, benefits, and time management.
- Conducting thorough assessments, research, and documentation of stakeholder needs in accordance with established project methodologies, employing suitable techniques to address challenges.
- Facilitating successful project outcomes by identifying risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies, while continuously exploring solutions that add value to stakeholders.
- Acting as a bridge between business units and development teams, guiding stakeholders through requirements and managing expectations regarding project scope.
- Contributing to the creation of test cases that are closely aligned with requirements specifications.
- Collaborating within cross-functional project teams, including HRCT teams, business partners, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Developing system specifications and testing plans in accordance with established standards and methodologies.
- Gathering necessary requirements to support business processes through interviews and workshops.
- Translating business needs into actionable system requirements and effectively communicating these with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Working closely with business architects and technology personnel to deliver project results while implementing risk assessments and meeting deliverable timelines.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and development.
- Engaging in early-stage project planning alongside other analysts and project managers.
Qualifications for Success:
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in medium to large-scale projects within Agile or iterative waterfall teams as a Business Analyst, complemented by a relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in analyzing application integrations and facilitating discussions with HR partners to resolve issues and enhance application performance.
- Ability to analyze business data to support informed decision-making and effectively present findings.
- Experience in evaluating procedural and systematic solutions that align with business standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with all levels of staff and management.
- Robust analytical skills, with a focus on trend analysis, problem identification, and resolution.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP configurations across Personnel Administration, Org Management, Benefits & Pensions, Time Management, and Payroll modules.
- Familiarity with SAP payroll schemas, rules, functions, and dynamic actions.
- Ability to read and debug ABAP code or collaborate with technical resources for debugging.
- Experience with SAP and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is advantageous.
- Understanding of Workday systems.
