The Client Partner, General Health & Safety is a key member of the Health & Safety Team, responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) program at Fraser Health.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement OH&S policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and collective agreements.
- Deliver OH&S training and education programs to staff, managers, and directors.
- Consult with management and staff on health and safety issues, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Conduct workplace hazard assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain records of client interactions.
- Liaise with WorkSafeBC officers during inspections, investigate incidents, and provide advice to management.
- Respond to workplace incident reports and provide recommendations for follow-up action.
- Provide advice on grievances related to the OH&S program.
- Promote constructive union-management relations through respectful communication and interest-based problem-solving.
- Stay current with relevant legislation, regulations, and collective agreements.
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, 5 years of recent experience in a unionized environment, and registration as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
