As a Health Services Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the development, implementation, operation, and evaluation of primary health care programs and services. You will engage with primary health care, acute and tertiary care, public health, leadership community, clinical teams, and community partners to support the mission, vision, values, and policies of Nova Scotia Health.

About the Role:

  • Lead the operation, functioning, and quality of assigned primary health care programs and services.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate primary health care programs and initiatives within the zone and across the province.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and sustain strong collaborative family practice teams.
  • Manage multiple projects and initiatives, and engage others through partnerships to achieve results that facilitate system transformation and the development of strategic goals and objectives.

About You:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline or experience in a health care setting.
  • Master's degree preferred (e.g., Master of Health Administration (MHSA) / Postgraduate Diploma Health Administration (DHA)).
  • Current registration with the relevant college/association.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years recent and related leadership/management experience in a health care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program leadership, human resource management, fiscal management, and development and assurance of professional standards.
  • Initiating and managing multiple projects, and experience in a unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion, health determinants, and dynamics of health needs in a rural community.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (oral, written, and presentation) skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with various professional and community individuals.
