About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Services Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating services and daily operations of people-centered programs within our organization.

Your primary focus will be on providing leadership and direction for our healthcare teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for promoting and emphasizing people-centred care in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership to support service delivery excellence and collaboration with other program areas.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining an active human resource plan, including recruitment, selection, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Preparing and analyzing financial and clinical data, reporting trends, and identifying areas for corrective action.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication processes across clinical teams, sites, and stakeholders.
  • Representing your discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and on committees.
  • Monitoring clinical service delivery to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and evidence-based practice.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline.
  • Master's degree an asset.
  • Registration with the relevant health discipline college/association.
  • Five to seven years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Previous leadership/management experience an asset.
  • Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded healthcare system.
  • Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction.
  • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge.
  • Proven and highly developed leadership skills, including vision, self-awareness, relationship, and team building skills, and communication skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly.
  • Approximately 11 months (Assignment length subject to change).
Compensation and Benefits

$60.39 Hourly.
