Cima+ has a long history of success in Eastern Canada and is made up of over 3000 employees across the country.

To support the growth of CIMA+'s Project Management and Communication Systems sectors in BC, our team of professionals is currently looking for a Senior Systems Project Manager to contribute to the realization of several interesting projects.

The ideal candidate will posses at least 10 years experience in delivering operationally and/or safety critical communication system solutions for the Utility, Transportation, Renewable Energy and Mining sectors.

We are looking for an individual who is prepared to take charge of projects, participate in technical decisions, remove project issues, document advancement and collaboratively drive projects to conclusion.

Primary Responsibilities

As an Senior Systems Project Manager, you will be involved in all stages of the project and notably will be responsible for:

  • Manage and lead the planning, execution, and control of assigned capital projects throughout their entire life cycle.
  • Rigorously monitor CIMA+'s professional services provision (cost, budget, schedule, quality, accuracy of deliverables, as well as other success factors) and report progress monthly to the Project Director as well as technical and commercial risks, expectations, timelines milestones, and key project metrics.
  • Work with the Project Team and Project Stakeholders to create and execute project execution plans, including work plans, resource plans, risk management plans.
  • Collaboratively engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify/clarify and define project specific requirements, and project delivery milestones and success criteria.
  • Control project budget, resources, schedule, project execution methodology and stakeholders necessary in order to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Participate and/or lead technical meetings, site meetings and /or project follow up meetings.
  • Lead stakeholders workshop for information solicitation and requirements gathering.
  • Coordinate teams of multidisciplinary experts and guide stakeholders in the search of solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on project standards, governance, and procedures to continuously improve project management practices.
  • Determine appropriate revenue/gross margin recognition and analyzes bill rates and utilization targets for project teams
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and monitor receivables and collection of invoices
  • In accordance with client's procedures, manage:
    • Change Orders and Contract Amendments
    • Contractor and suppliers Payment Requests, and provide recommendations based on work progress.
    • Provisional acceptance and final acceptance certificates
    • Remaining or deficient work to be corrected.
Qualifications
  • University degree (or equivalent) in engineering /science or project management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project management and/or communication systems.
  • Autonomy, excellent team spirit, advanced communicational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder and technical environments.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • English fluency, both oral and written.

Skills and Assets

  • Project Management qualifications such as PMP or PRINC2.
  • Previous working experience with key Western Canada clients such as TransLink, BC Hydro, City of Vancouver, City of Calgary, ATCO Electric, etc
  • Experience of working with large public sector clients.
  • Experience in Transit and/or Electrical Utility industries.
  • A P.Eng. Licence is an asset.
  • Technical Experience in deploying the following systems in various environments:
    • Fibre Optic networks.
    • Public address systems
    • Networking (LAN/WAN)
    • Microwave point-to-point systems
    • Private LTE networks or extending commercial LTE solutions;
    • Distributed Antenna systems (DAS)
    • Wi-Fi Systems.
  • Knowledge in System Engineering Processes (IEC

The expected salary for this position is from $105,000 to $138,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
