Be at the centre of Bell's transformation and growth on the Corporate Services team. Enabling our industry-leading businesses requires many teams working collaboratively, such as Corporate Security & Responsibility, Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Procurement, Strategic Business Transformation and Real Estate. The Corporate Communications team develops and manages all external and internal communications strategies for Bell, providing leadership in External Communications, Financial Communications, Internal Communications, Community Investment & Sponsorship.

We are looking for a communications professional with a focus on national and regional communications strategy. You will collaborate closely with key business units to tell compelling stories for Bell products & services, corporate and community initiatives as well as handle day-to-day media relations and some social media content creation and monitoring. You think proactively, have a talent for finding the most compelling story angles and you can execute media relations programs to a high standard that generate measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the Public Relations Manager's primary responsibilities will be to:
  • Execute media relations plans to support key business unit priorities
  • Develop communications materials to support these plans including press releases, key messages, briefing materials and backgrounders
  • Establish and maintain positive media relationships
  • Develop strong relationships with teams and leaders across the company and know the key players to quickly get the right information to answer media inquiries
  • Assist team members in identifying and managing emerging issues in close collaboration with the business
  • Stay up-to-date on evolving economic, political, regulatory and social issues that affect our business
  • Identify new opportunities and fresh ways to communicate about Bell to its audiences
  • Monitor and measure Bell's media share of voice and sentiment
  • Monitor and create social media content
  • Front line point-of-contact for media including some after-hours duties
Critical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related discipline, or relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in communications / media relations at a medium to large organization or at an agency working on national or global accounts
  • Strong writing and editing skills across a variety of vehicles
  • Demonstrated success in executing effective communications campaigns and programs
  • Ability to deliver quality communications across a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience in social media content creation and strategy
  • Good understanding of traditional media relations as well as social media
  • Tactful handling of difficult situations and issues management
  • Self-motivated and resilient to changing timelines and requests
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingualism required: In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
  • Experience with a technology or telecoms company an asset
