About the Role:
The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Leader to join our EXCEL program. As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff and providing a safe and engaging environment for elementary age students in before and after school programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of staff to deliver high-quality programs and services to students
- Develop and implement recreational programming that meets the needs of students
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year's experience working with elementary age students
- Knowledge of recreational programming and ability to develop and implement programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
- High School Completion Certificate or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Experience working in a before and after school program
