Senior Estimator role involves optimizing construction cost planning and budget management practices, providing cost consulting, quantity take-offs, and project construction budgeting support.
Purchasing - Senior EstimatorEmpire Communities has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator with the High-Rise Procurement Team. In this role, you will assist with the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and methodologies to optimize the construction cost planning and budget management practices.
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Construction Management or relevant field of study.
- Working towards PQS designation or member of CIQS/RICS.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying or contract administration within the High Rise residential construction industry.
- Strong knowledge in elemental cost analysis.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Skilled in interpreting construction drawings and other technical documents used in residential construction.
- Excellent knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, and On Centre.

- Review and provide guidance on measurement of project statistics / functional areas.
- Practical understanding of high-rise construction methodology.
- Ability to prepare and complete trade / elemental take-offs based on preliminary design documents.
- Ability to prepare and complete trade and elemental take-offs based on tender/construction documents.
- Advanced understanding of factors influencing construction costs and applying that knowledge to pricing estimates.
- Completion of estimates and reports ready for sign-off.
- Preparation and analysis of general condition breakdown.
- Work with Management to support the implementation of strategies.
- Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to all direct reports or team members.
