Responsibilities:

  • Provide resident supervision and assistance with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, hygiene, and grooming
  • Support residents with communication and connections, including the use of sensory aids
  • Administer medication under the supervision of a registered health professional
  • Ensure residents have access to mobility and assistive devices
  • Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support

Requirements:

  • Completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution
  • Internationally educated nurses with a degree in nursing are also eligible
  • Detailed-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families, and general visitors
