Your role

The Ottawa Production and Resources team is seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Associate Producer/Technician with a specialization in audio mixing. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in mixing and preparing sound elements, as well as a desire to contribute to the editorial development of our show. You will play a crucial role in creating a high-quality audio experience for our listeners.

Work is generally performed according to accepted CBC/Radio-Canada or industry standards but assignments require independent action, judgment and initiative as well as consultation with other program, production or technical personnel. Work is normally performed under high pressure.

Key tasks:
  • Provide live monitoring and mixing of radio broadcasts.
  • Maintain a consistent, high-quality audio level during broadcasts.
  • Manage audio equipment and resolve technical issues in real time.
  • Prepare and mix sound elements, including jingles, sound effects, and pre-recorded segments.
  • Make audio adjustments and edits to ensure clarity and consistency of broadcasts.
  • Work closely with the editorial team to ensure audio supports the show's objectives.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • Community college diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingualism (English/French)
  • Four (4) or more years' relevant experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a tight-deadline environment
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive
  • High degree of independence in managing priorities and ongoing projects
  • Strong ability to adapt and manage change
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
