Healthcare Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Services team, you will work with children and adolescents up to the 19th birthday, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders.
As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for conducting individual, family-based, or group therapy sessions, as well as supervising case managers and behavioral interventionists. You will also be expected to create and provide evidence-based educational presentations to clients, families, other agencies, and fellow staff members on topics related to mental health and concurrent disorders.

About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream. You must be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work and have at least two years of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting.
You should possess strong assessment, intervention, and research skills, as well as specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders. You should also be competent in evidenced-based interventions such as CBT, and risk assessment.

Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position, with a salary range of $37.31-$49.05 per hour. You will be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
