About the Role

BMO is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Governance Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Technology and Operations group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance of our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor, making recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
  • IT Governance: Develop and maintain an effective governance framework that defines the ways and methods governance is implemented, managed, monitored, and strengthened in technology.
  • Risk Management: Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making, and make risk management recommendations to senior leaders based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance standards, and develop and apply the framework for databases.
  • Communication: Develop and calibrate reports on the status of the governance program or framework components to various internal and external stakeholder audiences.
  • Change Management: Lead change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Interpret new or changing regulations and assess impacts to the governance framework, and lead the review and sign-off process for relevant regulatory reporting.
Requirements
  • Experience: Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, influence skills, collaboration and team skills, data-driven decision-making, and ability to manage ambiguity.
