About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Governance Consultant to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Technology and Operations group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance of our technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor, leveraging your expertise in IT audit and governance.
  • Develop and maintain an effective governance framework that defines the ways and methods governance is implemented, managed, monitored, and strengthened in technology.
  • Support and maintain an effective governance framework that promotes transparency, accuracy, consistency across groups.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies, providing guidance and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices, and apply this knowledge to inform business decisions.
  • Lead and integrate the execution of oversight/governance activities from multiple businesses/groups.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of business and related risk management requirements and legislative/regulatory directives and guidance.
  • Support the management of governance meetings, including development and approval of agendas, gathering and distribution of documentation, and creation of meeting minutes/output.
  • Assist in the identification, classification, and addressing of issues, and coordinate the management of the review and sign-off of relevant regulatory reporting.
Requirements
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
