Victor is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Ottawa office (Hybrid work environment). Full time remote work may be considered depending on location.

Bilingual Claims Examiner

What can you expect?

  • In this role you will work with adjusters, technical experts and legal counsel to develop and coordinate defense strategies in order to bring professional liability insurance claims to a prompt and final resolution.
  • You will be joining a team of professional colleagues, working in a supportive and collaborative fast-paced environment, who focus on seeking effective dispute resolution

We will count on you to:

  • Review and assess new claims to determine coverage and take appropriate action.
  • Retain and instruct lawyers, claims adjusters and experts as required.
  • Work with retained professionals to assess legal exposure and strategize on resolution of claims.
  • Report to and collaborate with internal and external clients.
  • Some travel may be required.

What you need to have:

  • Excellent communication skills in both official languages.
  • Two to four years of work experience in a professional environment within the following areas: insurance, claims adjusting/examining, finance/business, law, project management, or engineering.
  • Effective problem solver and strong analytical skills in order to analyze problems and develop/implement effective solutions
  • Sound judgment.
