Our 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community, that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in Job Summary The Registrar's Office is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Registrar and Director, Systems & Analytics, the Manager, Business Strategy, is responsible for the planning, managing, and execution of activities related to transformational business processes and the use of technology and systems solutions to support students, staff and faculty with registrarial activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and implements the project portfolio management framework, including building and maintaining stakeholder relationships within the Registrar's Office and across campus, ensuring projects are executed according to the priority set by the Associate Registrar, and that resources are allocated in alignment with project priorities.
  • Works closely with the Manager, Systems and Technology, as well as colleagues in Information Technology Services to ensure there is a coordinated and continuous approach to service, support and use of student information systems and technologies.
  • Lead the implementation of new projects/functionality and upgrades related to enrolment management, student services, and the recruitment Banner Student System. Undertake business process analysis: gather and document user requirements, research appropriate solutions and define scope with the aim for improvement.

  • Hires, trains and manages a team of four to six full-time, direct reports, providing daily operational support to the team of Business Analysts on matters related to the execution of the business strategy and project portfolio framework.
  • Investigate new initiatives and best practices in the IT and Higher Education industries, and effectively share this knowledge with others in the unit and team.

  • Undergraduate degree in computing or information management program, plus five years' demonstrated experience in analysis, project and change management, and transformative business solutions in a post-secondary environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
