About the Role

The Black Business Initiative is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Manager to lead the implementation of all communications-related projects under the Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative. This is a key role that will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy to support the initiative's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy that aligns with the initiative's objectives and goals.
  • Lead the development and execution of communications-related projects, including the Video Series and the Impact Report.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including SBCCI-funded organizations and the Communications Working Group.
  • Develop and implement a sustainable plan to support BBI's engagement with SBCCI-funded organizations.
  • Lead the implementation of BBI's Communications Strategy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing roles with a focus on nonprofit or community-driven organizations.
  • Experience managing complex communications projects.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing communications strategies and managing stakeholder relations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the experiences of Black businesses and communities in Canada, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in social media management and email marketing tools.
