Job Summary:

Touchstone Exploration Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Calgary Alberta. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting, with specific experience in the oil and gas industry being a significant advantage. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform various accounting month-end and year-end account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation in accordance with IFRS.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statement note disclosure packages.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Perform Accounts Payable entries.
  • Prepare various monthly variance analyses and explanations by analyzing past results, identifying trends, and key drivers to the business.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • CPA designation in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines and tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Experience with OpenInvoice/OpenOrder is considered an asset.
  • Experience with CGI Envision is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in Canada.
