Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and organized Legal Secretary for a contract opportunity with one of our respected clients based in Brampton, Ontario. The successful candidate will provide essential support within a law team, involving substantial coordination and document management.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage calendars, including scheduling and organizing appointments, meetings, and court dates.
  • Accurately maintain docket entries, ensuring that deadlines and filings are tracked and met.
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Organize and maintain corporate and real estate files, both digital and physical, ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and track billing statements, follow up on outstanding payments through calls and emails, and manage client billing inquiries.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, coordinating communications, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a high level of client service.
  • Apply knowledge of corporate law in all tasks, providing accurate and comprehensive assistance.
  • Keep track of all client cases, regularly updating records to ensure information is accurate and current.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and billing practices, particularly in corporate and real estate law.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Capable of preparing briefing documents and managing calendars.
  • Excellent client relations and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
