Primary Responsibilities:


•Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities adhere to Nova Scotia’s health and safety regulations and company policies.

•Risk Assessments: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.

•Safety Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

•Training and Mentorship: Lead safety training sessions, providing mentorship to staff on safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

•Collaboration with Site Teams: Work closely with superintendents and site teams to promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.


Job Requirements:


•Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety, particularly within the construction industry.

•Strong understanding of Nova Scotia’s health and safety regulations and best practices.

•Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.

•Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and promote safety culture. Education and Certifications:

•High School Diploma or equivalent, plus recognized safety certifications (e.g., Certificate of Recognition [COR], First Aid, WHMIS).
