About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all site activities comply with Nova Scotia's health and safety regulations and company policies. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implementing strategies to mitigate risks.
  2. Maintaining comprehensive records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  3. Leading safety training sessions and providing mentorship to staff on safety protocols.
  4. Collaborating with superintendents and site teams to promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety, particularly within the construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of Nova Scotia's health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and promote a safety culture.

Education and Certifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus recognized safety certifications (e.g., Certificate of Recognition [COR], First Aid, WHMIS).
Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus:

  • Extended health, dental, and vision benefits after probationary period.

  • Two weeks' vacation.
