We are a local, family owned and operated, full service Elevator Company specializing in installations, both commercial and residential, maintenance and service on existing equipment, as well as modernization and repairs. This opportunity, working as a part of a mid-sized family owned business, will provide many elements for the right individual to utilize their strengths and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise service mechanics and repair teams
  2. Visit all clients/locations to inspect job conditions for necessary repair work and ensure proper maintenance is being performed
  3. Ensure maintenance, routine inspections and periodic tests are being performed at the proper intervals
  4. Handle dispatching and supervision of mechanics answering night calls
  5. Layout, organize plan and work with dispatching to schedule maintenance and repair work
  6. Develop list for office to prepare proposals for necessary work
  7. Survey all new potential clients/leads that come in for repair and or maintenance
  8. Survey all completed construction or modernization projects for acceptance by the Service Department
  9. Oversee the parts department with regard to parts and supplies needed for service and repair
  10. Responsible for managing field employees in our continuing education and safety programs
  11. Follow up with customers after initiation of a new relationship and or completion of work
  12. Liaison between Job Superintendents, Building Owners/Representatives, Supervisors and Office
  13. Maintain accurate jobsite records and maintenance schedules
  14. Prepare lists of required work on existing equipment
  15. Assist mechanics with additional troubleshooting and technical skills
  16. Keep company supplied vehicle clean, neat and presentable at all times

Qualifications / Required Skills

  1. 3-5 Years’ experience as an elevator field employee supervisor
  2. Possess technical troubleshooting skills for a wide variety of control equipment
  3. Clean/valid driver’s license
  4. OSHA 10 Course/Training completion
  5. Thorough knowledge of Electrical Schematics
  6. Thorough knowledge of a variety of manufactures of structural equipment, controllers, signal/fixtures and door equipment
  7. Ability to communicate effectively to assistants, job superintendents, supervisors and office to include thorough knowledge of all elevator component terms
  8. Complete set of hand tools
  9. Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) Certification a plus
  10. NYC DOB Licensed Elevator Inspector a plus
