Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Manager, Telecom Services, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the smooth functioning of all aspects of telecommunications, including the implementation of new telecom systems, supporting current services, and the budget process for Healthcare facilities in Manitoba. The incumbent will provide technical expertise, direction, and mentoring to junior employees as required. As this position requires some travel, the incumbent must possess a valid Manitoba driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Experience
  • Five (5) years directly related Telecom experience.
  • Proven recent experience in the management of a telecom support organization is required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary education in the area of Telecommunications (PBX, Database Management Administration, Call Pilot Administration) is required.
  • Successful completion of Management certificate program would be an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Technical knowledge of telephone system architecture, features, and functionality.
  • Working knowledge of Voice mail systems and administration.
  • Knowledge of wireless products and services.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of general accounting and business practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize a large and varied workload; independently complete a variety of administrative duties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computerized systems (Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, databases) is an asset.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
