Job Summary

Good for the heart and the soul, the Fresh Poke motto We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by efficiently performing various tasks related to the preparation, assembly, and service. You will play a key role in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring food safety standards, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Menu Preparation
  • Assist the kitchen in station set-up and food preparation throughout the shift.
  • Prepare and assemble high-quality menu items according to the restaurant's recipes and standards (bubble tea, poke bowls, sushi rolls, soup).
  • Maintain a high standard of care, accuracy and presentation for a positive customer experience.
  • Prepare sushi rolls.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or concerns.
Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a tidy and organized kitchen and sitting area.
  • Participate in end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures.
Customer Service
  • Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Provide information about menu items, ingredients, and answer customer questions.
  • Operate the POS system to process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and speed.
Food Safety and Sanitation
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for raw fish and other perishable ingredients.
  • Monitor and record food temperatures as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferably 1 year experience working in a restaurant setting.
  • Preferably 1 year experience with sushi making is an asset.
  • Flexibility in work hours and availability to work weekends and holidays is often required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • The ability to think on your feet and solve problems quickly and effectively when handling customer concerns or unexpected situations.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor to contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for customers and foster positive team culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are crucial.
  • Accuracy in taking and preparing orders, as well as attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to quality standards.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
