Sushi Apprentice

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain kitchen areas with special attention to sanitation
• Exhibit culinary skills by performing day-to-day tasks, and assisting sushi chefs
• Evaluate quality of food product, prep items and final menu items being served to guests
• Prepare sushi in the front of the house
• Comply with Maki Sushi's food safety and hygiene standards
• Other duties to assist Head Chef

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• Basic kitchen knowledge required
• Experience in other sushi restaurants is welcomed but not required

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in English
• Energetic – ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player – assist in a positive guest experience however necessary
• Culinary - have basic culinary knowledge and prepare ingredients based on the instructions

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
• Cooking: 1 year (required)
