Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Assistant Superintendent, Traffic Support will support an active major heavy civil MTO project. The Assistant Superintendent, TS will be responsible for actively managing multiple duties, taking part in both day-to-day operations and long-term project planning.


Please note this position requires Night Shifts.


Key Responsibilities include :


  • Assist the General Superintendent in managing work on-site at night to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specifications
  • Support the General Superintendent in planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, equipment, and requirements are maintained
  • Monitor work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are being followed
  • Advise the General Superintendent and Project Manager(s) of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problems
  • Maintain and analyze up-to-date cost reports and submit necessary changes to ensure the project is delivered within budget
  • Meet with Consultants, and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
  • Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality control
  • Interface with project team, subcontractors and related third parties
  • Monitor and inspect project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed.



Position Requirements :

  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge regarding MTO Book 7(Traffic Control) is required.
  • An EIT or CET designation is preferred.
  • Experience on MTO road construction projects is desired.
  • Experience in AFP/P3 Design-Build projects is desired.
  • Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
  • Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
