Position Description
Eneon is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist who will work with Eneon Sales personnel and clients to develop effective battery energy storage solutions based on client requirements and present those solutions in the form of budgetary or detailed proposals and presentations. This individual will be a battery energy storage subject matter expert who can interact with clients and offer detailed technical support when required. The Technical Sales Specialist must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle and will have the ability to manage a fast paced and rigorous environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support up front system design by translating client project concepts into system design requirements.
- Act as a primary technical point of contact (subject matter expert) for all related integrated equipment within the battery energy storage system.
- Support the preparation of budgetary and firm proposals based on client requirements.
- out and respond to public battery energy storage RFP postings.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients.
- Develop and maintain client relationships throughout the project lifecycle and beyond.
- Manage client interactions through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Support the project team in understanding all the specifications presented during the sales cycle and ensuring a smooth project transition to the project execution phase.
- Provide direction to engineering and design team on future design considerations based on client feedback and industry best practice.
- Progress clients through a process driven sales cycle.
- Be an active participant in the development and design, including general layouts, optimized equipment orientation, schematics/drawings and adherence to codes.
- Attend trade shows and industry events as a company representative.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of directly related experience to the above responsibilities.
- A Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in engineering with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Comfort presenting to clients and internal personnel.
- Strong customer service and communication background.
- Knowledge of NEC, CEC, UL9540(a) and NFPA 855 standards.
- Prior experience writing RFI, RFP, RFQ documents.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical/mechanical designs, schematics, P&IDs, specifications and codes/standards.
- Possess the ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Prior experience with CRM tools.
- Ability to work within a mandate and with minimal supervision.
- EIT or P.Eng. considered an asset.
- Experience with energy storage devices (electrochemical batteries, flow cells, fuel cells, CAES, etc.), inverters, and/or PLCs considered an asset.
