As the Senior Product Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the Digital Transformation of the Salesforce Retail & Small Business roadmap and drive a dedicated backlog with partners in Business Retail & Small Business, Operations, and Engineering. You will oversee the rollout of an industry leading CRM solution, and be responsible for engaging stakeholders, incorporating feedback from participants, prioritizing key features and experiences, and more. You will be responsible to partner with the Salesforce Vendor, other product managers, functional SME’s, bank stakeholders, software engineers, and designers, to translate the user journeys into actionable, prioritized backlog deliverables and follow through to delivery. Critical to success in this role is the ability to build strong relationships with partners (both internal and external) and lead large-scale, multi-faceted programs. This role ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

In this role you will:
  1. Leader in agile product management to prioritize effectively and manage inter-dependencies across key scrum teams.
  2. Ability to set long-term goals and manage a strategic vision for the Salesforce product.
  3. Manage multiple competing priorities from stakeholders and ensure Engineering capacity is focused on the high priority items.
  4. Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  5. Prioritizes and manages a dedicated backlog with partners across Retail & Small Business.
  6. Work closely with the Salesforce Vendor and Engineering to ensure a user experience across client segments that is logical, engaging, and accessible.
  7. Partner closely with business stakeholder teams to ensure an effective operating and delivery model.
  8. Uses data to drive decisions, building hypotheses, testing and iterating, including planning for the right incorporation of data and analytics strategies into roadmap.
  9. Maintains a prioritized backlog, supports the creation of detailed user stories, and participates in sprint planning and review activities. Engages day to day with the scrum teams, clarifying questions and helping with decision making.
  10. Plans for and considers reusability of Canada components in other markets across the Bank’s International footprint.
  11. This will be a Technical Product leadership role.
  12. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  13. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  14. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  15. Understand how the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  1. Minimum 5 years experience in building customer facing digital products.
  2. Managed a technology product or a digital journey end to end, from inception to delivery.
  3. Strong understanding of the Retail/Small Business business lines including policies and processes, servicing models and products.
  4. Ability to build trusted relationships, instill confidence and influence stakeholders.
  5. Experience with financial products and services in direct investing and/or wealth management.
  6. Master of identifying and solving ambiguous problems to drive customer and business value.
  7. Knowledgeable about multiple functional areas such as Product Management, Agile/Scrum, Engineering, UX/UI Design, Finance.
  8. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  9. Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation.
  10. Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels in the organization.
  11. Engineering, Computer Science or Business degrees considered an asset.
