Human Resources Director

Key Purpose Statement
The HR Director, reporting into the General Manager, Asahi Canada, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, will be accountable for driving the HR strategy in Asahi Canada with specific responsibility for employee engagement and employer brand, performance management and talent development, organization design and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, HR operations, policies and HR systems.
The incumbent will embed Asahi Europe & International‘s world-class HR approaches and processes, while ensuring that the interests and needs of Asahi Canada and its employees are addressed, in order to sustain a culture of high performance and high engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee engagement and employer brand – work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to define and embed a culture of high performance and employee engagement as evidenced by continued superior Global Employee Engagement scores and advancement of Asahi Canada’s employer brand in the Canadian market.
Performance management and talent development – support individuals and managers in goal setting, performance reviews and performance rating calibration processes. Assess organizational learning and development needs and leverage AEI learning & development team and external providers to implement learning and development solutions.
Organization design and talent acquisition – work with the Senior Leadership Team to define current and future business needs and resourcing requirements including conducting job evaluations and pay cost projections. Leverage AEI’s talent acquisition ways-of-working to acquire talent.
Compensation and benefits – responsible for defining and managing Asahi Canada’s total rewards framework in alignment with overall company strategy, growth plans and culture, including working with external providers to support the delivery of same.
HR Operations, Policies and HR Systems – oversee all employee lifecycle HR administration and maintenance of AEI’s HRIS. Accountable for HR policies aligned with local legislation and AEI global policies.
Desired Experience
- 7-10 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in CPG
- University / College education in a related field is preferred
- Demonstrated progression within a Teir 1 organization: cross-functional leadership team member experience
- Bilingual (French) preferred but not essential
- Highly collaborative, team oriented, hands-on, energetic, pragmatic
Travel
- Travel to Western Canada and Quebec 1-2x per year
- Some international travel may be required
- Based in Toronto office
