Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Admissions Coordinator, the Admission & Recruitment Liaison is responsible for supporting initiatives in both the recruitment and admission offices. The incumbent primarily works in an Admissions Officer role in direct support of recruitment priorities. The Liaison is responsible for validating and evaluating applicants' admission documents and academic history to make admission decisions that align with established policies, procedures and principles. The Liaison is also responsible for ongoing oneonone applicant relationship management, including communicating consistent, accurate and clear program admission requirements.
  • In the ongoing support of NAIT's enrolment goals and recruitment objectives, the Liaison performs admissions work that will directly support recruitment initiatives, events, and agent relationships. This work will include some travel within Canada and internationally, including a responsibility for cultivating relationships with prospects, families, agents, partner institutions, and Canadian government offices overseas to promote awareness of NAIT and to develop a strong pipeline of qualified applicants.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to make sound admission decisions based on program eligibility criteria
  • Ability to "think through" applicant issues and be a solutionfinder
  • Experience delivering presentations in different settings
  • Understanding of curricula both within Canada and Internationally
  • Managing admission targets and critical deadlines
  • In depth knowledge of Campus Solutions, APAS, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work efficiently with mínimal supervision in a highvolume environment
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret FOIP legislation to ensure records and documentation are treated with confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 1
  • Related postsecondary certificate and diploma
  • Extensive related experience
  • Previous experience in a Registrar's Office working with a student information system like PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is preferred, along with 13 years related experience in international student recruitment and/or enrolment management
  • Fluency in additional languages is considered an asset
  • Experience living and/or working abroad is considered an asset
  • A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license is required
  • A valid Passport with relevant immigration status is required to travel internationally
  • Equivalencies may be considered

Remuneration:
$1, $2,557.12 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.(Classification - Administrative Support VI).

  • This position is covered by the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement._
