With a focus on elevating streetwear through premium apparel and accessories, Retrokid is poised to change the landscape with expansion into studio collaborations, live events, extended product lines, and pop-up experiences.


We're looking to expand our roster with a talented Live Events and Program Manager who can ensure the complete management of our brand collaborations and our external experiences.


Working directly with our studio and brand partners, this role will internally manage the collaboration process from ideation to execution of our collections.

Working with our marketing, product, and design departments, success in this role will be ensuring all internal operations come together for a successful collection launch.

In addition to launching collections, this roll will manage all external events including comic conventions and partnership/company pop-ups.

Management of this role will include coordinating with external partners, securing locations, staffing, and permits, in addition to creating and ordering product for sale at these events.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior management on product ideation and concepts
  • Program coordination and execution from start to launch
  • Commission products and apparel through partnering manufacturers and internal Creative Department
  • Ensure designs are properly submitted for studio approval and feedback is provided to internal teams
  • Manage all external events (Comic Cons, Pop-Ups, Warehouse Sales, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external companies and locations to secure venues, spacing, permits, and any other necessary event elements
  • Ensure proper staffing, including event hiring, is completed for each event
  • Set KPI's for events and collaborations/partnerships
  • Point of contact and team lead ensuring all objectives are delivered, on time and on budget.

Requirements:

  • Valid passport with the ability to travel throughout North America
  • Advanced familiarity of current and nostalgic pop culture including TV, movies, video games, toys, and events
  • 23 years' experience in live event management
  • 12 years' experience in new product or initiative launch strategies
  • 12 years' experience in managing a team
  • Creative thinker with ability to bring those ideas to life through clear, strategic plans
  • Ability to engage live audiences while amping up an audience
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Born leader, brave enough to step up and into the spotlight, leading a team through example
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Approachable and friendly demeanour when speaking with customers, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Availability to respond to issues and crises outside typical business hours

Pay:
$60,000.00 per year

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

Event Planning: 2 years (preferred)
