Role Responsibilities

As the Bridge Manager, you will report to the Regional Director, Peace Region and will be responsible for the overall day-to-day management of all bridge functions. The job involves developing and delivering effective regional bridge programs to ensure safe movement of people and goods. You will also oversee environmental requirements of projects in the region, ensuring proper construction, inspection, and maintenance of bridges according to engineering standards and best practices.

Your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring safety of Provincial Highway bridge infrastructure for people and goods through effective construction, inspection, and maintenance programs.
  • Ensuring safety of Local Road bridge infrastructure by providing rural municipalities with funding and technical assistance for bridge construction, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Being accountable for delivering bridge programs through consultants and contractors, managing them effectively, and ensuring quality service is maintained.
  • Maximizing economic life of all bridge structures in the region through efficient operations.
  • Managing compliance with environmental regulations for project delivery personnel, consultants, and contractors.
  • Providing environmental support to staff and coordinating with regulatory agencies for project-related issues.
  • Offering leadership and advice on environmental matters for projects' safe and timely delivery.
  • Managing selection, assessment, and evaluation of environmental consultants and reviewing environmental work.
