Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bridge Technologist to join the Regional teams in the Construction and Maintenance Division. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for performing various bridge-related tasks, including inspections, assessments, maintenance, and rehabilitation needs, planning, reviewing reports, and construction functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of the Bridge Maintenance Program on Provincial Highways.
  • Engage Engineering Consultants to provide supervision and technical answers for various maintenance projects.
  • Perform contract administration.
  • Assist in the delivery of other bridge programs.
  • Provide assistance to external stakeholders.

About the Role

The Bridge Technologist will report to the Bridge Manager and will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration, delivery, and monitoring of the bridge construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance programs within the Region. The incumbent will engage with consultants and contractors to perform inspections, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance in a timely and cost-effective manner on various bridge structures in the Region.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bridge engineering and maintenance, with excellent communication and project management skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
