Job Summary:


This is a contract full-time position where the incumbent will be responsible for providing analytical expertise to plants and corporate leaders with the goal of improving health, safety and environmental (HS&E) and Sustainability performance across the organization.

This includes ensuring effective tools and processes are in place to ensure data integrity, collection, and analysis of all forms of HS&E and sustainability data to provide information that can be used to make decisions on initiatives and strategic direction.

Major

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with plants to analyze HS&E data and report on site specific and companywide trends to identify strengths and areas for improvement. This includes trending analysis of incidents, groundwater, plant emissions and corporate sustainability data.
  • Lead a corporate HS&E Incident Review committee, whose purpose is to ensure the accurate and consistent reporting of incidents and root cause analysis investigations.
  • Monitor and report on companywide HS&E key performance indicators as identified in respective plans and management systems.
  • Work with IT to improve effectiveness of existing HS&E monitoring and reporting tools, and design new tools as required.
  • Develop and provide training on effective data analysis and reporting as required.
  • Act as a resource to the ERCO Safety Committee (ESC) and the Environmental Technical Committee (ETC) in an advisory capacity
  • Assist the HS&E department, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies/ Science or equivalent
  • 35 years experience in working with data management or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Proficient at using Excel as a tool for data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies is an asset
  • Self motivated and able to handle working in a dynamic environment
  • Teamoriented, works well with others but also able to work independently
  • Understanding of chemical plant working environment and practices
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification or equivalent is an asset
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish language an asset
