About the Role
The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a secure and compliant work environment for our team members. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety protocols across all aspects of our operations.
What You'll Do:- Implement established workplace Health and Safety procedures in accordance with HelloFresh policies and regional OHS regulations.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments in collaboration with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive Health and Safety policies and procedures, working closely with site stakeholders and the HQ Health and Safety team.
- Provide training to employees on safe work practices, including proper use of PPE, engineering controls, and administrative safety measures in both production and non-production areas.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and huddles to ensure adherence to safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents promptly and effectively, facilitating corrective actions with site stakeholders to prevent recurrence.
- Support the implementation of effective safety communication strategies, ensuring supervisors are equipped to deliver safety information during daily meetings and employee training sessions.
- Monitor and track key Health and Safety performance metrics, such as near misses, injuries, and missed workdays. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to review sanitation practices, identify potential hazards, and implement measures to prevent accidents.
- Manage the inventory of safety supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement.
- A completed post-secondary degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a health and safety role.
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience working in a Health and Safety environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build a strong safety culture and foster a collaborative approach to risk management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
