Kitchener, Ontario, Canada Traverse Independence Full time

Making a Difference, One Client at a Time

Traverse Independence offers an incredible variety of supports and services for those who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) to live independently in the community. One of these exceptional services is our outreach program. As an outreach worker you will work in a low barrier program, building trusted relationships with your clients, which in turn will allow you to support them to work on independence in the community. This inspiring program makes a major difference in the lives of our clients and in partnership with your clients, you will experience great satisfaction as they achieve their goals, improve their quality of life and cope with their day-to-day activities.

You will report to an Outreach Coordinator, in a team that includes regulated staff such as ABI specialized psychiatrists, an Occupational Therapist, Behaviour Therapist and an Intensive Case Coordinator.

You will provide support to individuals in their homes or in community settings across the Region of Waterloo and the County of Wellington.

While experience with ABI is a benefit, it is not necessary as we offer a comprehensive training program both internally and through the Ontario Brain Injury Association.

This is a great opportunity to add an ABI specialization to your skillset.

If you have experience in the mental health and/or addictions sector this would benefit you in this position as many people with an ABI also have mental health or substance-use disorders.

We offer an excellent benefit package, paid training, and mileage.

There are full-time opportunities in our community outreach programs and your hours can be flexible as you work directly with the clients to schedule appointments.

All applicants must have valid driver's license and access to reliable vehicle with proof of $1,000,000 liability insurance and driver's abstract acceptable to Traverse Independence, as this position is responsible for regular travel to clients in the community,

Traverse Independence is committed to building an accessible and barrier-free workplace that provides employment opportunities in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Please contact our Human Resources Department if you require any accommodations to ensure you can participate fully during the recruitment and selection process.
