Job Description AECOM** is seeking a passionate Community Engagement and Communication Intern to be based in Kitchener, Ontario to ensure tremendous outcomes from the work we do with our clients. This is a temporary full-time 4-month position.

  • This position is expected to begin in May 2024._
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting multi-disciplinary teams and project managers to develop strategic communication and community engagement plans and activities on behalf of our clients.
  • Supporting tracking and reporting on the results of consultation and engagement.
  • Assisting with public and stakeholder engagement activities and tactics, including inperson and virtual workshops, advisory committees, community meetings, and public open houses.
  • Supporting the development of communication materials including key messages, FAQs, presentations, notices, storyboards, and discussion guides.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements**:

  • Currently completing their Bachelor's degree in Communication, Environmental Planning, or other related fields.
  • Must be in their 3rd year of study in the relevant program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, problemsolving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders, client management, and the public.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory and policy context, Federal and Provincial Impact Assessment processes
  • Being bilingual in English and French would be an asset
  • Experience with government relations, media relations, public relations, stakeholder analysis, and facilitation.
  • Knowledge of project coordination/ management concepts and processes.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $20.48 $28.15
