As the

_Program Manager, Prescribing, Analytics & TPP Alberta_, you are responsible for all activities related to the Prescribing, Analytics & TPP programs within the Analytics, Innovation & Research department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Physician Prescribing Practices (PPP):

  • Manage the overall day to day operations and strategic direction of the program.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the program staff, including Senior Medical Advisors (SMA), staff pharmacist, and other competence staff, towards achieving excellence in prescribing and data analytics.
  • Develop and manage intervention processes for physician competence using databases; refinement of current processes and evaluation of interventions.
  • Standardize and integrate program in keeping with the direction from Council to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency, transparency, and reduced burden to physician members.
  • Contribute towards developing best evidence (research) in competence/prescribing through collaboration with programs in other jurisdictions or as a leader in various research activities.
  • Contribute to the development of assessment and program evaluation reports with an understanding of analytics and statistics.
  • Manage workflows to maintain effective and efficient programs; guide and support continuous improvement.
  • Organize and lead regular program meetings with the competence team staff for discussion involving data analysis and reporting involving multiple sources.
  • Liaise with public, physicians, and external bodies as they relate to Continuing Competence programs and the Triplicate Prescription Program (TPP).
  • Assist physicians, pharmacists and the public with continuing competence matters and TPP related issues.
  • Provide periodic reports and analyses of competence and TPP functions.
- **Practice Condition Monitoring (PCM) Program**:
  • Manages the overall day to day operations and strategic direction of this program area.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the program staff, including the Physician Health Advisor and Senior Medical Advisor, towards achieving excellence in monitoring and reporting of physicians with practice conditions.
  • Establish all policies and procedures, administrative business rules, correspondence and reporting templates, communications, and educational resources, etc., required for the ongoing operations of the program.
  • Standardize and integrate the program, in keeping with the direction from Council, to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency, transparency, and reduced burden to physician members.
  • Develop robust evaluation frameworks for the program, including identification (and monitoring) of indicators of measurement and operating the program to achieve maximum results (KPI), and report to Council.
  • Contribute to the development of assessment and program evaluation reports with an understanding of analytics and statistics.
- **Functions as a member of the Analytics, Innovation & Research team and supports the senior management team in the administration and operation of these programs**:
  • Business planning and development of long
  • term strategies for the program areas.
  • Budget planning and management for the program areas.
  • Completion of activity reports and program updates for Competence Committee and Council.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators for the programs.
- **Human resource planning and management including**:
  • Staff recruitment and staff orientation.
  • Participation in annual performance evaluations and ongoing performance management.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching, guidance, and direction to staff
  • Identify (and adopt) quality improvement initiatives to enhance general operating procedures and IT infrastructure that supports program areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Specialized professional skills typically obtained through a Bachelor's degree plus professional certificate in area of specialty or equivalent, or additional classes in specialized area.

Experience:

  • Requirement for 8 to 12 years of related experience.

Skills:

  • Extensive project management experience in assessment, data collection, and reporting within the healthcare industry.
  • Program development and evaluation experience; experience and knowledge in analytics and statistics is an asset.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SharePoint and Tableau is an asset.
  • Pharmacy degree is an asset.

SALARY
The starting salary for this permanent full-time position is $109,688 and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
