Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct and lead all mining operations at DMC to ensure successful operational delivery and team effectiveness with a top priority on safety standards and processes.
  • Continuously achieve production, safety, and cost goals within the boundaries of the relevant rules and regulations. Direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to mining standards.
  • Create DMC management team synergy; manage diversity and promote a highperformance culture to align the overall team to meet business unit objectives and core values.
  • Perform mine planning tasks in the short and longterm with a well thought out project management and execution plan over the project.
  • Establish mine objectives and goals with mine production and processing methods by ensuring we operate in compliance with environmental permits and regulations and the environmental permits are maintained to meet future production needs.
  • Accountable for the preparation and management of all capital and operating plans and budgets, project management, and taking appropriate action to remain within established and related goals.
  • Optimize the financial performance of the mine and continually adhere to budget targets for production, operating costs, and development activities.
  • Utilize cost reporting systems to ensure reliable, accurate and timely delivery of reports, budgets and forecasts.
  • Meet established deadlines for submitting daily, weekly and monthly production and performance reports for internal and external (as required) communications as required.
  • Provide options for future operations, especially activities which will reduce long term risk to the company from unplanned and undetermined environmental factors resulting in excess cost, environmental liability, and corporate PR exposure.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required from timetotime.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in a fastpaced mining environment.
  • Progressive leadership experience with 510 years of proven ability to lead high performance teams.
  • Experience in underground mining, construction, and shaft sinking is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or Business Administration. MBA is an asset.

Skills and/or Knowledge:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong financial skills (analysis, budgeting, planning).
  • Resulted oriented with a strategic focus.
  • Strong leadership and management ability.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Mine planning software is considered an asset.
  • Ability to deal with the public / community, regulatory agencies, and government officials in a professional manner.
  • Bilingual proficiency is required.
