The position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and a great ability to collaborate.In addition to managing your team's human resources, you will have to have regular discussions with other Parks Canada employees, senior managers, stakeholders such as Aboriginal groups, the Association of Persons Expropriated from Forillon and their Descendants, representatives of expropriated families, contractors and consultants.
The Project Manager is part of the management team of the Gaspésie Field Unit of Parks Canada and is responsible for managing infrastructure projects in Forillon National Park, and the National Historic Sites of the Battle of the Restigouche and Pointe-au-Père Lighthouse.
In addition to the specific functions of the position, the project manager provides strategic advice to the director of the field unit as well as to other members of the management team for the good governance of the places protected by the Gaspesie field unit.
The Grande Grave Heritage Accommodation Project will be the main project of the project manager.This is a very important initiative for Parks Canada and the Regroupement de personnes expropriées de Forillon and their descendants (Grande-Grave Heritage Accommodation Project - Forillon National Park ))**.
The nature of the other projects under the stewardship of the manager is diverse, and involves infrastructure such as contemporary and heritage buildings, campsites, roads, bridges and trails.
Parks Canada is therefore looking for a project manager who will be able to meet this unique and stimulating professional challenge in a context of conservation and enhancement of the built and natural heritage of the Gaspé Peninsula.

Located on the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, Forillon Park is a mountainous area that borders on the Gulf of St.
The Forillon Peninsula has been inhabited for thousands of years and Forillon Park bears witness to the lives of the men and women who lived there, including Micmacs, fishermen, cod merchants, whale hunters and lighthouse keepers.
