General Aide

Responsible for the preparation and presentation of the screening / reception area, including ensuring the maintenance and organization of supplies and obtain extra stock and supplies as directed.

Using excellent customer service skills, you will be expected to efficiently and systematically screen all visitors and staff as they enter and exit the building using a standardized screening tool, ensuring consistency in every interaction.

This includes temperature checks for all. Calmly managing volumes at busy times. Perform general reception area and administrative functions in support of screening.

Ensuring all persons entering the facility follow proper precautionary measures including hand sanitization and wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)and practice infection prevention and control practices. Cleaning high touch areas frequently. Portering residents from nursing units to hairdressing for visiting appointments.


Using considerable professionalism, judgment and sensitivity as residents, families, staff and community professionals may be difficult to interact with due to the stressful times we are experiencing.

At times, you may be required to ask individuals to leave. Communicating with various managers and departments to determine visitor eligibility. Supervising indoor / outdoor visiting as needed. Assisting with other administrative tasks and/or in other areas of the home as necessary.
