Overview


We're looking for a Strategy and Consulting Intern (Co-op Student) to work in the Office of Strategy Management (OSM) Department to assist in supporting our executive leadership team, president and CEO by providing assurance through ensuring alignment with WorkSafeBC's strategies, business plans and policies to our strategic plan.


Where you'll work


At WorkSafeBC, we offer a
hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally be on-site in our Richmond office.

What you'll do

  • Draft communications such as memos, summaries, and presentations for distribution to our executive team
  • Facilitate planning meetings
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of strategic initiatives by creating documentation, tools and templates on key metrics for the executive team and Board of Directors
  • Engage and participate in projects requested by the Executive Office such as impact assessments, project management, change management and process mapping
  • Collaborate with partners to continue and support the OSM mandate to provide assurance and alignment of initiatives to strategic priorities

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Effectively organize information and monitor progress of work tasks
  • Utilize analytical skills to review data or research and translate into summaries for an executive audience
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Create something (ie. presentation, image, infographic) that conveys a clear and concise message from little or an abundance of information and sources
  • Synthesize data into easy to understand information appropriate for a senior leadership audience
  • Demonstrate initiative, selfmotivation and an ability to work with limited supervision
  • Quickly adapt to shifting priorities and changing deadlines in a dynamic and fastpaced environment

Your background and experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in using Power BI or PowerApps is an asset
  • Previous coop or relevant work experience in an office environment is required
