The role:
As the assistant master grower, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facilities operations related to cannabis crops. Your main tasks will include managing the crops from planting to harvest and ensuring compliance with health Canada regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervising the entire lifecycle of cannabis crops, from planting to harvest, which involves creating plans, managing budgets, and setting schedules.
- Coordinating and documenting daily activities such as transplanting, cloning, defoliation, and trimming.
- Monitoring plant health, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintaining optimal VPD conditions for plant growth.
- Implementing an IPM schedule to keep the facility free from pests.
- Collaborating with the propagation manager to ensure timely cloning processes.
- Overseeing the drying and curing stages of cannabis production.
- Working closely with the trim team to meet trimming deadlines.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in science, horticulture, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in growing plants.
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Physical fitness to kneel, stand, or sit for long periods.
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Possession of safe and reliable transportation.
Salary:
$20.00-$40.00 per hour
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday
Location:
Kelowna, BC: must be able to commute or relocate for work.
Work Environment:
On-site
